The Barnsley Children and Young Peoples Strategic Partnership (CYPSP) has published the Children and Young Peoples Plan called Re-making Services for Children and Young People. It sets out an ambitious agenda for change, which will be delivered by services for children, young people and families, including schools, childrens centres, child care, social services, community health services, hospital services, play and leisure services, voluntary and community sector services and many others.
Barnsley Children and Young Peoples Strategic Partnership (CYPSP) is made up of a range of services and stakeholders and is accountable for:
Meeting all needs of all children and young people requires the long-term commitment of everyone. The Children and Young Peoples Plan is an expression of Barnsleys commitment to achieve strong partnerships and collaboration at all levels.
We want to forge new and improved relationships with children, young people, their families and the communities within which they live. This, together with an integrated approach to service delivery based on collaboration between all statutory, voluntary and community sectors and service delivery at local level, will support greater understanding of needs.
We aim to build integrated, joined up, multi-disciplinary teams and services that are fully supportive of all children, young people and families, and delivered at a local level wherever possible.
To develop the plan, we wanted to make sure that children, young people, and their families and carers, had a chance to tell us about the things that were important to them. Thats why, over the past year, weve been out and about across the Borough asking children, young people, and their families and carers exactly what they think. Weve also spoken to staff and volunteers working in Children and Young Peoples Services and with other partners to make sure everyones views are represented.
The plan is in three parts. The first part sets out why changes need to be made, drawing particular attention to building on improvements in health inequalities and educational attainment. The second part describes what we want to achieve and action needed to ensure that all of our children and young people reach their full potential. Finally, information is provided in part three about how all of the partners are working together to integrate service delivery.
