AN art club aimed at six- to 11-year-olds will take place once a month at Barnsley's Cooper Art Gallery from next month. The workshops are for children who want to learn more about art and try out new ideas and techniques.
The workshops will use the exhibitions in the gallery and be led by artist Helen Moore. The theme for the first three workshops is Nature and the Environment.
The club takes place between 11am and 1pm on the following Saturdays:
13 May - Using images from the South Yorkshire Open Art Exhibition to make a big and a little picture in the style of 'smarteenies',
17 June - Using work from the Talking Points exhibition to make bird boxes or nests using recycled materials,
8 July - Using seascapes to inspire paintings.
The cost for the three sessions is £20 and must be pre-booked. Places are limited so book now to avoid disappointment. Under-eights must be accompanied by an adult.
To book or for further details please contact the Cooper Gallery at Church Street on (01226) 242905.
