THE Performing Arts Development Service, known throughout Barnsley simply as PADS, are busy preparing for their first-ever Proms evening, to be held at Canon Hall Museum near Cawthorne, on Friday, 7 July.
Performances will take place from 5pm until 8pm in the Ballroom, Spencer Wing and Walled Garden. Four bands, four orchestras, a guitar ensemble, the Barnsley Youth Theatre and Barnsley Youth Dance Theatre Company will all be performing.
The evening will be informal and members of the audience will be invited to stroll among performances and enjoy the wealth of young talent present in Barnsley.
It is hoped many people will bring garden chairs, a rug and picnic to enjoy in the beautiful surroundings of the Walled Garden, but for those wishing to buy refreshments the café will be open.
Tickets are available on entry at £4 adults and £1 children.
Set in 70 acres of historic parkland Cannon Hall is situated near Cawthorne, off the A635, between Barnsley and Huddersfield. For further information phone (01226) 790270, email: cannonhall@barnsley.gov.uk
