The service, funded through the Standards Fund Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Grant, aims to provide genuine equality of opportunity for all ethnic minority groups by:
- raising standards of achievement for those minority ethnic groups who are particularly at risk of underachieving;
- meeting the particular needs of pupils for whom English is an additional language (EAL);
- securing improved access to education, more regular school attendance and higher levels of attainment for traveller children;
- meeting the particular needs of refugee children.
