The Council, as highway authority, is responsible for the maintenance of the highway, including footways and carriageways.
Anyone wishing to report a problem with the highway.
The Council carries out routine safety inspections to all its highways in accordance with a National Code of Practice. Highway safety repairs are then ordered following the inspections.
Non-dangerous defects are recorded and considered for repair from the Council's Highway Maintenance budget, these include:

Upon receipt of a report of a defect the Council will investigate the problem and decide on the speed of response required to carry out repairs.
Some repairs will be considered as urgent and will be repaired within 24 hours, while others may be considered for repair in a programme of other works.
