** National Unison Strike Action - For households who would have received recycling collections on Wednesday 16 July and Thursday 17 July, these bins will now be collected on the next scheduled collection day Wednesday 30 July and Thursday 31 July.

For households who would have received grey bin collections on Wednesday 16 July and Thursday 17 July, these bins will now be collected on Wednesday 23 July and Thursday 24 July instead of the scheduled green bin collections.

Friday 25th July 2008 Normal schedules resume.**

Following the final roll out in July 2008 all Barnsley Residents will receive a fully integrated waste & recycling kerbside collection service.

The good work of Barnsley Residents combined with this method of collecting recyclable waste one week, and the residual landfill waste on the second, has allowed Barnsley to reach exceptional recycling rates of over 32% at the end of 2007/8.

 In addition to Kerbside Services Waste Management also provide a network of small carpark style recycling ‘bring sites’, four larger Household Waste Recycling Centres- which recycle over 60% of all waste brought to site, a bulky household waste collection service, clinical collections, and commercial waste services.
