Barnsley Council provides four Household Waste Recycling Centres to enable residents of the Councils area to recycle / dispose of unwanted household waste.
You are able to use the Household Waste Recycling Centres with domestic vehicles with trailers and small vans (not sign written) if you have a valid permit to do so.
Permits are issued for a single site free of charge to residents of Barnsley borough and expire after 2 years.
Small vans with sign writing, larger vans and vehicles carrying items of bulky household waste may be allowed access to deposit their waste but only with prior arrangement.
To obtain a permit you need to ring the Household Waste Recycling helpline and request an application form. A permit will be issued to eligible residents within 10 working days and will last for 2 years. If you need to use the site prior to this then arrangements can be made when requesting your permit application form.
