Arena

Barnsley Arena is a voluntary organisation that has been set up to help Service Users and Carers have a say about the services that are available.  It is the organisation through which Service Users and Carers can make their opinions heard and improve services.  They can provide free training and support to help you get involved.  You can use your experiences and ideas to help make services better. 

Barnlsey Arena have has over 1000 members who are involved in influencing change in different ways:

• Some members sit as representatives on commissioning boards and vote on high level decisions about services.
• Some members meet with those representatives vefore meetings to tell them their views and ask them to raise issues.
• Some members come to meetings with managers of services to ask questions, raise problems and suggest ways forward.
• Some members take part in consultations and make suggestions about changes to services.
• Some members simply receive the newsleter and keep up to date with what is going on.
