Proposed caravan sites are subject to planning permission. After planning permission has been obtained, the occupier of any land must not permit the land to be used as a caravan site until they hold a site licence.
The occupier of the land must contact the Planning Department to establish whether the proposed site would be acceptable in a given location. With Planning permission, an caravan site license will be issued with conditions that are concerned with the following:
Permitted numbers The spacing between caravans Type of caravans Water supply and drainage Lavatory and drainage facilities Fire precautions Electrical Installations etc.
