Welcome to the home page of the Strategic Housing Grants Agency.
We work exclusively within the private sector, assisting eligible owner-occupiers to maintain their current home; whether via a grant for repair works or a regeneration package (in targeted areas of the borough). We also work in conjunction with social Services, to provide adaptations and specialist equipment for people with disabilities (both owner-occupiers and private sector tenants).
We are also planning a new initiative to help qualifying home owners maintain their properties. This will take the form of a Home Loan, provided through the Council and secured against the future re-sale of the property.
