The Arts Development Services' role is to support, promote and develop arts and cultural activity across Barnsley.  It is responsible for a range of community arts initiatives, an annual programme of festivals and events and supports the professional and voluntary arts sectors in Barnsley to grow and develop.

Is there a local Arts database?

Yes, we hold a database of over 200 local voluntary arts groups and artists. There is also a website Creative Barnsley where you can find details about local art groups and artists.

Is there a local arts support group?

The Barnsley Creative Arts Partnership was set up to support the interests of local arts organisations and artists.  It currently meets on a monthly basis and is responsible for the Creative Arts Strategy for the Borough.  Please contact Art Development for further details.
