The Arts Development Service is responsible for supporting and developing community arts activity across the whole of the Barnsley Borough.  The Service works directly and in partnership with local community groups and organisations, statutory bodies and funders to create opportunities for local people to participate.

Current priorities are:

  • Increasing opportunites for young people
  • Partnership projects with the Barnsley Primary Care Trust
  • Creating new opportunities for local artists to develop their skills

In addition to this, a designated officer provides a range of support and advice services to voluntary arts groups and community groups involved in arts activity, in areas such as funding, mentoring, project planning and commissioning.
