The Elsecar Heritage Centre is an Antiques, History, Craft and Events Centre offering something for everyone of all ages.

Set in the attractive conservation village of Elsecar, the Heritage Centre is located within the former ironworks and colliery workshops of the Earl Fitzwilliam.  Restored buildings now house an antiques centre, individual craft workshops and businesses, children's indoor play centre, Heritage Railway and an exhibition hall which features a year round programme of special events.  The Centre also features the only Newcomen type Beam Engine still in its original situ in the world.

The centre is also the ideal location to access the Trans Pennine Trail and walks along the Dearne and Dove Canal.

Elsecar Village itself is an excellent example of an early industrial village with its stone cottages built for the miners and foundry workers, it also has its own park with 'Pitch & Putt', cafe and children's play area, as well as an adjoining reservoir, popular with anglers and bird watchers.

Along with the regular attractions of the village and the Elsecar Heritage Centre, you will also find a full programme of events taking place throughout the year at the site, including themed children's activities, monthly antique fairs, championship dog shows to concerts.
