The Elsecar Railway is run and operated by the Elsecar Heritage Railway, who are a group of dedicated volunteers involved in the running of the train service at Elsecar as well as the restoring of a variety of rolling stock and general track work. New volunteers are always welcome. No previous experience required and the running of the railway involves a variety of duties ranging from manual to more administrative tasks, so there is something for everyone..
On site training is offered for volunteers wishing to develop more specific skills, eg train driving, guarding, etc.
To become a member of the Elsecar Heritage Railway contact them for further information on 01226 746746.
The group hold regular meetings to discuss railway services, events and development activities. There are opportunities for a wide range of volunteering roles which may be undertaken both weekdays and weekends.
