About Commercial Art Activities

The Cooper Gallery sells artwork and crafts by local craftspeople and designers. We also stock local interest books and books by local illustrators, prints, oils, acrylics, jewellery, ceramics, textiles and etchings. There's also a variety of postcards showing the Cooper Gallery permanent collection.

Purchase of items

Craft items and artwork can be purchased from the exhibition and craft display cases.

Admission

Admission to the Cooper Gallery is free.

Payment methods

The Cooper Gallery accepts payment of goods by cash, cheque, debit and credit card. Payment by cards will involve using a PIN number, the Cooper Gallery does not accept payment by card using a signature.  Please note that, at the moment, we cannot take card payments for any Friends of the Cooper Gallery items or membership renewal.

Exhibition purchases

Artwork purchased from an exhibition will remain at the Cooper Gallery until after the exhibition ends. Please make arrangements for collection with the Gallery at the time of purchase. Items purchased from the display cabinets, the cafe exhibition area and corridor exhibition area can be taken home at the time of purchase.

Opening Times

The Cooper Gallery is open Monday to Friday 10.00am to 4pm. Saturday 10am to 3pm. Closed Sundays. There are additional late night openings at Christmas, please contact the Gallery for details.

Q. Are the crafts and artworks locally made? A. Most of the items for sale are made locally, however, we also sell work on the behalf of artists who live nationally. Q. What can you tell me about the artist? A. Staff at the gallery have knowledge about all of the artists selling work in the gallery, if you require further information about the artists staff will be willing to find out for you. Q. Can you give me the contact details of one of the artists selling work in the gallery. A. If their details are not on a label on the artwork, we are not allowed to pass on personal contact details. we will however take your details and pass them onto the artist. They will be asked to make contact with you.
