Voting
As an EU citizen you are entitled to vote in local elections - the elections to decide who runs our local council and our local services. You are not entitled to vote in UK national parliamentary elections unless you become a British Citizen.
To do this, you need to register to vote. You can collect a registration form from Electoral Services, 18 Regent Street or call 01226 773070 or e-mail electoralservices@barnsley.gov.uk. Once registered you will be send a polling card which will tell you where and when to vote on Election Day. In the run up to the election you will probably receive literature from candidates intending to stand in the election.
