Data Protection BMBC Registrations

Description

Every organisation required to notify under Data Protection must create and maintain a publicly viewable register of 'purposes' for which personal data is processed. It is a criminal offence not to be registered when required to be so.

BMBC has the following current registrations

In any register we categorise the purposes for which the information is held, such as -

Staff Administration;

Accounts & Records;

Education;

Benefits & Loan Administration

Further (detailed) description of the purpose (e.g. provision of education and training courses);

Data Subjects (e.g. Students & pupils; volunteers; suppliers);

Data Classes (e.g. personal details such as name/address, racial or ethnic origin);

Recipients (e.g. we may disclose to suppliers of goods or services, police forces, careers service);

Transfers (e.g. overses within the EEC or worldwide).

Procedure

All registrations are viewable on the Information Commissioners website.BMBC Helpline staff can assist in providing sight of registrations if an applicant doesn't have Internet access
