Barnsley Connects is a new, joint venture between all Council Services, and participating partnering organisations, to improve access to services for the public.
In establishing this new venture, the Council has put the public first and organised new access to services around the different needs of its users.
Over time, access to services will be available through a range of facilities, all designed to suit the preference of the customer. These include, a number of Barnsley Connects Service Centres located throughout the Barnsley area where users can speak to an Information Officer face to face, a Contact Centre using call centre technology, on-line access via the Web and Digital TV. In addition, new reception points combining Health and Social Care professionals will be supported by Barnsley Connects front-line staff.
Highly trained staff, with a commitment to delivering a customer focussed service will work from easily accessible new or refurbished buildings, supported by information systems and innovative use of IT, to provide the customer with access to services, information and advice from a single visit or telephone call.
In due course, and subject to resources being available, access will also include Text Messaging and Interactive kiosks located throughout the various communities in and around Barnsley.
