These awards recognised building excellence across the region throughout 2010, with a number of prestigious projects in the South Yorkshire region being named category winners, such as the newly refurbished Crucible Theatre, the University of Sheffields new Institute of Translational Neuroscience (SITraN) building, and Penistones new oak framed market building. South Yorkshire was also well represented by a number of smaller, but still worthy winners, such as the new Stonebridge House in Lindrick, Doncaster; a domestic extension in Wickersley; and Southdale Homes development in Eastwood, Rotherham. The Doncaster & Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust was also named as the Best Partnership with a Local Authority for their long-standing partnership with Doncaster Building Control.
