Article: Pollution control - exhaust emission testing Error loading MacroEngine script (file: Breadcrumb.cshtml) Error loading MacroEngine script (file: ServiceSubNavigation.cshtml) Article Body Emission testing of vehicles is not routinely undertaken by Regulatory Services. If you have concerns regarding the exhaust emissions from individual vehicles, this service operates the smoky diesels hotline, which deals with heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) greater than 3.5 tonnes or public service vehicles (PSV - bus or coach). If you have such a concern, please contact Regulatory Services and we will forward the report to the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA). Exhaust emission testing is now part of the routine inspection when you take your car in for its MOT test. The Barnsley Council MOT Test Station is open to the general public for testing vehicles.
