Article: Children and young people - organised activities Article Body All 16 and 17 year olds and full time students aged 18+ can access a number of activities at discounted rates with a Passport to Leisure card. Barnsley FC's Community Sports & Education Trust offers a range of high quality holiday clubs and programmes for young people whatever their ability. Maxx is a scheme operated by Barnsley Premier Leisure which offers a 10 week block of activity sessions free to young people aged 11-19 years. PlayActiv is a project funded by the Big Lottery Fund that offers open access free play opportunities for local children across Barnsley. Sport Unlimited is a national 3 year programme being delivered across England, Spearheaded by Sport England but led and managed locally by County Sports Partnerships. Sport Unlimited is designed as an introduction to sport for young people, giving them crucial tasters of what participation in sport can be like and transit into regular participation within the community in clubs, leisure centres and other settings.
