Article Body

Development Management is a positive, proactive approach to shaping, considering, determining and delivering development proposals. It involves working closely with other council service areas, those proposing developments and other interested parties. It is a more total approach to development with emphasis on pre-application discussion and post decision monitoring as well as planning application processing. Developers and applicants are encouraged to engage in pre-planning application discussions at the earliest possible opportunity, particularly on major developments.

The Development Management webpages will help you determine if planning permission is required for a development or a change of use, will assist you in submitting your planning application and provide information about the planning process. Please use the links to the right of this page, to access up to date guidance and advice.
