Article: Local Involvement Network (LINk) Article Body A LINk is a network of local people, organisations and groups that want to make health and social care services better. Health and social care services cover NHS Barnsley (which is the Primary Care Trust), Barnsley Hospital Foundation Trust and the local authority Adult Social Services department, in other words any health or social care service that is paid for by taxpayers. The Government says that LINks should give everyone the chance to say what they think about health and social care services. They say that LINks can: Give people the chance to check how services are planned and run and go into some types of services to see what they do. Make reports and recommendations and get a reply within a set amount of time. Ask for information and get a reply within a set amount of time. Tell Scrutiny Committees what they have found and get a response. In Barnsley the organisations working together to support the LINk are Barnsley Arena email carianne@barnsleyarena.com , Barnardo's Voice and Influence Service email debra.banner@barnardos.org.uk and Voluntary Action Barnsley email caroline.makinson@vabarnsley.org.uk .
