+me Positive About Change is a local support group for people living with HIV, their families and carers in the Barnsley Borough by

Information and support we have an extensive range of information, magazines and resources clients can access helpful and free information in a safe environment.

Drop in service and telephone services

 

Drop in service and telephone services - Both informal drop-in and formally arranged home visits are available for people wishing to access different levels of assistance, the support is delivered by people living with or affected by HIV themselves who are trained to enable them to pass on their knowledge and experience in a respectful and professional way.

1-2-1 Support

 

1-2-1 Support we provides a volunteer led service that offers people living with HIV short term personal support through a difficult period and occasionally long-term befriending support where a clear need is identified.

Regular Social Excursions

 

Regular Social Excursions +me believes in social integration, encouraging people to live normal lives and engage with mainstream services. Social activities regularly include trips to country parks, local art galleries, days out and family day trips to the seaside and zoo.

Being Responsible

 

Being Responsible we advise people to ensure that they protect themselves and those they are intimate with. In support of this they provide a range of condoms and lubricants supported by leaflets and counseling service.

Community Services

 

Community Services we provide Training, Counseling and Therapies Services in addition to Money Management, IT Training and General Benefits Advice. We work in partnership with other organisations to provide individual services meeting the needs of each person.

Barnsley has a lot to offer everyone who lives, works and visits. We've a vibrant town centre, with a cosmopolitan mix of cafes, theatres, museums, art galleries and hotels.

Or, if shopping's more your thing, then you'll find plenty of high street stores and of course, our famous seven hundred year old market, open five days a week.

Access is from junctions 36, 37 and 38 of the M1 with J37 just 1 mile from the Town Hall (S70 2TA).

We have frequent rail services to mainline stations at Sheffield, Wakefield and Leeds. There are also five airports within one hour of the town centre, namely Manchester, Doncaster, Sheffield, Leeds, Bradford, Nottingham East Midlands and Humberside.
