Further Information

Dodworth branch library has disabled access, a bus stop outside and is near to the railway station. There is also on street parking available outside the library.

In addition to the facilities listed below, Dodworth Library is a UK Online centre with several public access computers.

Reader's Groups meet regularly at the Library and a Young Readers' Group for aged 5 and above also hold meetings in the library.

For pre-school children a Story and Rhyme session is held in the library, and once a month there is an art, craft and story session, run in conjunction with the local Children's Centre. During the school holidays this will be open to children up to 8 years of age

Several adult classes are held at Dodworth Library including IT, Language and Family History. Free taster sessions on Safe Surfing and E-Mail also take place at several times during the year.

Dodworth Library is a public access building, Barnsley Council and the Primary Care Trust have worked in partnership with Disabled Go to develop an access guide for disabled people, their friends, family, carers and colleagues in relation to such buildings. Access is from junctions 36, 37 and 38 of the M1 with J37 just 1 mile from the Town Hall (S70 2TA).

We have frequent rail services to mainline stations at Sheffield, Wakefield and Leeds. There are also five airports within one hour of the town centre, namely Manchester, Doncaster, Sheffield, Leeds, Bradford, Nottingham East Midlands and Humberside.
