In addition to the existing library facilities, Grimethorpe also holds a local history photographic archive. For pre-school children a Story and Rhyme session is held at the Library. A Readers Group also hold meetings which are facilitated by the Library Grimethorpe Library is a public access building, Barnsley Council and the Primary Care Trust have worked in partnership with Disabled Go to develop an access guide for disabled people, their friends, family, carers and colleagues in relation to such buildings.
