Due to a problem with the National Registration System used for registering births, deaths and marriages, and to produce copy certificates, there's currently a delay to registration certificates being produced. This is a nationwide problem and we're working with our external partners to resolve this as soon as possible. 

These problems may cause a delay if you're attending an appointment at the Town Hall, and means you may receive your certificate on a later date as we're having to produce them manually.

We've also had to temporarily suspend our priority service for producing copy certificates. Certificates can still be ordered using our standard service, but please be aware there may also be some postal delays affecting this service. If you’re waiting to receive for a copy certificate urgently, please call us on (01226) 773555 and ask to be transferred to the Register Office.
