All four of Barnsley’s main recycling centres can now accept paper for recycling.
This is another positive step to encourage recycling in the borough and follows the phasing out of white recycling sacks, with residents now able to recycle paper and cardboard together in the blue bin.
Cllr Roy Miller, Cabinet Spokesperson for Place said: “We continue to look at new ways to support recycling across the borough. We are investing in a number of improvements to our household waste and recycling centres and have found a solution to provide paper recycling.
This provides further options to kerbside paper collections, and if people do have additional paper, they can now easily dispose of it at one of our sites.
As part of our #EverybodyThink campaign we encourage everyone to continue to make the most of recycling, and we’re committed to ensuring as much waste as possible is diverted from landfill.”
