Annual accounts receive clean bill of health from external auditor

Our annual statement of accounts has been given a clean bill of health by external auditors Grant Thornton, confirming our commitment to transparency and financial integrity.

In their report, Grant Thornton also highlighted that they found no significant weaknesses in our arrangements for achieving value for money.

The auditor expects to issue an unqualified opinion on the accounts, which means that they have not identified any errors or omissions that would impact the accuracy and completeness of our financial statements.

Cllr Robert Frost, Cabinet Spokesperson for Core Services, said: "Our finances have always been well-managed. This positive outcome received from the auditor, in line with the agreed deadlines for completion, reflects our commitment to maintaining high standards of governance, accountability and transparency. This is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our employees.

“These findings reinforce our ongoing efforts to make sure public funds are managed responsibly and effectively. We’ll continue to implement the auditors' recommendations to further improve our financial practices.”
