Big names from the world of comedy will belly laugh their way into Barnsley next month as the April Fools Comedy Festival returns for its fifth annual instalment.
Comedians Seann Walsh, Justin Moorhouse, Andy Parsons, Shappi Khorsandi and the legendary Cannon and Ball will all appear at venues across Barnsley during April.
They’ll be joined by John Shuttleworth and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Ben Hart while local lad Toby Foster will also host his Last Laugh Comedy Club.
The launch night on April Fools Day (Wednesday 1 April) will take place at Elsecar Heritage Centre, where star of Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights, Justin Moorhouse, will headline, supported by Nina Gilligan.
Tickets for the show are on sale now via April fools comedy festivals website and are priced at just £10.
Meanwhile, the free Slapstick Saturday on 11 April will see some of the best street theatre acts from across the UK perform for crowds in Barnsley town centre.
Also as part of the festival, free free comic book activities will take place across Barnsley’s libraries during the Easter school holidays – including Library @ the Lightbox in the town centre.
For more information on those, visit your local library.
