Calling all traders! Book your spot at our Christmas markets on our Principal Towns

Market traders and small businesses are invited to sign up now for their spot at our Christmas markets around the Barnsley borough.

Goldthorpe, Hoyland, Penistone and Wombwell are all hosting seasonal events this festive season.

It’s a great opportunity for new and existing traders to reach a wider audience.

The calendar of events is as follows: 

• Wombwell Christmas Market: Saturday 29 November, Wombwell High Street - in conjunction with the Wombwell Business Committee and Barnsley Council’s South Area Team, featuring festive entertainment and a range of stalls
• Penistone Christmas Market: Saturday 6 December, at the Market Barn
• Goldthorpe Christmas Market: Thursday 11 December, Horse and Groom Square - in partnership with Barnsley Council’s Dearne Area Team, with fairground rides, refreshments and choral performances
• Hoyland Christmas Market: Saturday 13 December, Hoyland Market

Cllr Robin Franklin, cabinet spokesperson for regeneration and culture, said: “We’re excited to bring Christmas markets full of festive cheer to our Principal Towns.

“Our markets play a vital part in ensuring our high streets and town centres are thriving, and everyone can enjoy a pleasant shopping experience, and events like this aim to add to their appeal.

“It’s a great opportunity to bring the community together and will offer traders and businesses the chance to reach new customers, while playing their part in spreading the Christmas spirit.

“I would urge any traders who’ve never stood at our markets before to get in touch and take the chance to reach a new audience. Let’s make it a Christmas to remember!”
