Barnsley’s very own multicultural festival is making a return following last year’s success where residents from over 20 countries came together to celebrate the many diverse cultures in Barnsley.
This year’s festival will take place at Locke Park on Sunday 15 July from 12.30pm to 4.30pm and promises to be a fantastic occasion with a whole range of activities and live entertainment for people of all ages.
There will be opportunities to learn about different cultures from around the world with delicious food and activities including international board games, playground games, and cultural stalls.
The event will also provide family entertainment including music and live performances, circus skills workshops and five-a-side football.
Nino Watson of the Barnsley Together Forum for Race Equality, said: “The Destination Barnsley International Festival is a great opportunity for different communities in Barnsley to come together, share their cultures and experiences. It’s a great way to learn something about each other and find out what Barnsley has to offer. We look forward to another fantastic event that will provide fun for all the family.”
The festival is free to enter with a £2 charge for parking at the site.
