Choreographed routines will be performed in front of stores in The Alhambra Shopping Centre and The Glass Works as well as independent businesses including Frank Bird, 80s Casual Classics, Closet Queen and Labels For Less.
There are also special giveaways to be won!
If you believe that you are a trendsetter when it comes to fashion, there is an opportunity for you to get involved in an exciting new exhibition ‘B Inspired’.
We’re on the lookout for Barnsley’s best dressed to strut their stuff at professional photoshoots in pop-up studios across the town centre.
Professional photographer Timm Cleasby will be capturing street style inspired images of those who are not afraid to stand out from the crowd and the most inspirational images will be selected and transformed into life-size cut outs that will be exhibited in The Glass Works Square from Saturday 23 to Saturday 30 April.
In collaboration with The Civic, a T shirt Cult / Culture / Subversion exhibition featuring exceptional surviving pieces customised by Westwood and McLaren will also be on display in The Glass Works until the end of May. And don’t miss Casting Characters: The worlds of Graham Ibbeson, a superb exhibition in The Gallery @TheGlassworks featuring figures of celebrated performers such as Eric Morecambe; Benny Hill; Laurel & Hardy.
April wouldn’t be complete without an Easter celebration, however.
Families and young visitors can join the Barnsley Bunny Trail between Saturday 9 and Saturday 16 April. Find the bunnies and win a chocolate surprise!
Also, don’t forget to pick up your Easter sweets from town centre stores and Barnsley Markets as well as enjoying a well-earned treat during the school holidays from one of the fantastic restaurants or Market Kitchen. Dolly’s Deserts has an amazing range of Easter goodies.
If you fancy a laugh there are also several comedy gigs throughout the month including the return of The Comedy Shop each week from Friday 8 April on Graham’s Orchard.
The Civic also has a number of side-splitting events including Ed Byrne, Lost Voice Guy and Toby Foster’s Last Laugh Comedy Club while The Lamproom plays host to Bernie Clifton.
