The transformation of Hoyland Town Square is almost complete and local people are invited to a celebration event next week.

Works began in January to transform the look of the square and provide improved paving, better seating and more attractive space for events and performances. It is due to be completed by the end of next week.

A celebration event will be held in the new Hoyland Town Square on Saturday 4 March 2023, from 9.30am to 2pm.

It will include live music, face painting, balloon modelling and Hoyland Market branded merchandise giveaways.

Cllr Robert Frost, Cabinet Spokesperson for Regeneration and Culture, said: “This fantastic transformation of Hoyland Town Square supports our wider investment work in Principal Towns and Local Centres which is helping local high streets thrive across the borough.

“We've already invested £5m into our six Principal Towns and ten Local Centres and have plans to invest another £30m. Principal Towns investment is all about making sure you have local access to shops, markets, restaurants, and a diverse night-time economy in your local community.”

Everyone is welcome to attend the event on 4 March from 9.30am to 2pm. The market will also be trading from 8.30am to 3pm with additional stalls from our Young Traders.
