Chat and bat sessions open to people with dementia

Barnsley residents who have dementia are invited to take part in a table tennis session for people aged 50 and over.

Age UK’s Chat and Bat sessions are a great way to have fun, meet people and enjoy a friendly game of table tennis.

The sessions are supported by Shaun Alvey, a specialist table tennis coach from Inclusive Ping Pong and are suitable for all ranges of abilities or experience.

The next sessions take place on Wednesday, 14 and Friday, 16 January, 10am to 12 noon at Age UK Resource Centre, 36a Queens Road S71 1AR.  They are free of charge and refreshments available. No booking is needed – just drop in.

Exercise and physical activity can have a significant impact on the wellbeing of people with dementia, improving confidence and mood, and helping to keep bones strong.
