We’re pleased to be working alongside the South Yorkshire Funding Advice Bureau and Barnsley CCG to support the voluntary and community sector.
Groups and organisations who have been adversely affected as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and are facing financial difficulty can now apply for financial support. For those interested in applying for the funding, there’s more information on our webpage.
£250,000 is available to distribute around COVID resilience, and last year we distributed funding to over 80 organisations across the borough. The funding, which can be applied for through our website, will be awarded to groups and organisations which meet the criteria.
There are three themes to the funding; mental health, business planning and sustainability, and COVID-19 resilience. Organisations applying for funding will be asked to provide evidence of need and a breakdown of the funding required.
Cllr Jenny Platts, cabinet spokesperson for Adults and Communities, said: “I’m really pleased that we’re able to offer this funding to our voluntary and community sector, and support the groups and organisations who are vital to our communities in Barnsley.”
“It’s important that they’re aware of the support in place to help them in their recovery, and I would urge any groups that are experiencing financial issues as a result of the pandemic to apply.”
Any voluntary or community group interested in applying for funding should contact their local area team. Contact details can be found at barnsley.gov.uk/ward-alliance.
There are also other external funding opportunities available. South Yorkshire Funding Advice Bureau can offer advice and guidance on where to find funding opportunities along with support on filling in forms. Organisations can get in touch by calling 07774771452, or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
You can also register your details at www.syfab.org.uk to receive a weekly email providing news and updates on funding information.
