Barnsley’s very own multicultural festival will be in full swing on Sunday 24 September as the Destination Barnsley International Festival celebrates all people who are helping to create a better Barnsley for everyone.
The Festival will be taking place on Sunday from 11am to 5pm at Shaw Lane Sports Club, close to the Barnsley town centre. There will be a varied range of activities and entertainment to get involved in, including food, music, circus skills, arts, games, children's activities, English language taster classes, information stalls, cultural stalls, a mobile coffee van, and the Barnsley World Cup football tournament!
Nino Watson, of the Barnsley Together Forum for Race Equality, said; “The Destination Barnsley Festival is a great opportunity for different communities in Barnsley to come together, share their cultures and experiences, learn something about each other, and find out what Barnsley has to offer. This should be a fantastic event providing fun for all of the family and there is still time for people to enter a football team too, so why not come along?”
