The new Mayor of Barnsley, Cllr Pauline Markham, is inviting residents across the borough to a special Civic Service on Thursday, 13 June, to mark the beginning of her mayoral year.
The service will take at St Mary’s Parish Church, Church Street, Barnsley and begins at 6.30pm.
The service will be led by Rev Canon Stephen Race, and the Mayor’s Chaplain, Reverend David Hildred will be speaking.
The Mayor and Consort Mr Larry Markham, will be joined by Deputy Lieutenant of South Yorkshire Colonel George Kilburn and Mrs Kilburn; High Sheriff, Mr John Pickering and Mrs Pickering along with civic mayors from neighbouring authorities and representatives from many organisations throughout the borough.
The Mayor said: “I look forward to meeting and welcoming residents from across Barnsley to celebrate the beginning of my year as the Mayor.”
