Futureproof your workforce - join our free training events

We're inviting small to medium-sized businesses to join us for workshops, to learn more about the importance of good leadership, management and mental health support for employees.

The events are free; however, booking is required to secure your place. To find out more about the events, visit the Enterprising Barnsley website.

The second in our series will explore 'Mental Health and the Workforce' at the event. You'll also hear case studies and information on how your business can benefit from our support package. The mental health awareness training takes place on Tuesday 5 July from 11.30am to 1.30pm at the Ibis Styles Hotel Barnsley.

These events are part of the Future Proof Workforce Programme that's helping businesses in the borough optimise and improve their employee's productivity.

Cllr Robert Frost, Barnsley Council's Cabinet Spokesperson for Place (Regeneration and Culture), said: "The Future Proof Workforce programme is helping businesses affected by the pandemic get back on track. This programme offers small to medium-sized businesses an opportunity to assess areas of their businesses and receive free specialist support. I encourage all businesses to see if they're eligible and get in touch."

The pandemic impacted businesses everywhere. Many of the changes that had to be made to deal with the impact are still around and affecting business. Whether you're progressing well or still facing challenges, the Future Proof Workforce programme can help to strengthen your operations and overcome challenges to improve workforce productivity.

The programme offers a free support package which includes an assessment to identify opportunities for your business and specialist support from a consultant. This can include support with:

  • organisational human resources
  • leadership and management coaching
  • workforce development and culture
  • workforce mapping
  • employee mental health.

In addition, there will be drop-in sessions for the futureproof workforce. This is the perfect opportunity to learn how the programme can help your business recover from Covid.
