On Thursday 10 May Barnsley Council alongside partners from the CCG and Barnsley Hospital officially launched Live Well Barnsley website.
Organisations and partners pledged their support to the new directory site which provides information about health, wellbeing, care and support services. It allows people to access a range of topics from getting help and adaptations in their home, learning new skills and joining local groups. There is also help and guidance for carers.
There are currently over a thousand easy-to-access services on the site, bringing together a range of information that enables people to live healthier and independent lives.
The site contains information and contact details about all types of services and activities that can help residents look after themselves, stay independent and get involved in their local community
Services across Barnsley have praised the new online service which can be used by the general public and across the health service.
Cllr Chris Lamb, Cabinet Support Member for Communities, said: “We are pleased to see so much support across the borough for this new directory site. Developed alongside our partners to help individuals and carers across Barnsley to find services and groups that can help them improve their well-being and live healthier lives. I would encourage anyone to take a look at the site; there is something for everyone.”
