Meet the Boards who keep Barnsley’s most vulnerable people safe from harm

There is an opportunity for people to meet the members of the Safeguarding Adults and Children Boards and Safer Barnsley Partnership Board, to give their views and ask questions at Barnsley Town Hall on Tuesday, 10 July between 2pm and 4pm.

It’s a great chance for people who live and work in Barnsley to find out more about the work of the adult and children’s boards and how they help keep people of all ages safe from harm; to ask them to address any particular issues that may be of concern and find out how various organisations contribute to the work of the boards.

This is just one of a number of events organised for Safeguarding Awareness Week (9 to 13 July) which has the theme of prevention.

People wishing to attend this event do not need to book in advance, just turn up on the day. Those who cannot make the event, but would still like to ask any Board members a question, are invited to email or and these will form part of the discussions on the day.

More information about events taking place across Barnsley during the week is available via Barnsley Council’s homepage at and

There is also a Facebook event page dedicated to the week.
