More Barnsley Libraries have opened from Monday 3 August

Barnsley Libraries have moved into the final phases of their plan to reopen libraries across the borough as more libraries began opening their doors from Monday 3 August.

The sites are operating in the same manner as all libraries currently open in Barnsley, offering residents the opportunity to browse books, use the order and collect service and pre-book computers. Further details can be found at barnsley.gov.uk/services/libraries/reopening-of-our-libraries/

Cllr Jenny Platts, Cabinet Spokesperson for Adults and Communities, said: “Once again we can open more of our community libraries thanks to residents following government guidelines and using our facilities safely.

“We are looking forward to our libraries being able to offer more of their regular services as our phased reopening progresses and would like to thank our residents for their patience.”

Residents are asked to still follow social distancing measures in libraries and adhere to guidelines to keep both staff and visitors safe while on site.
