Proud to Care will highlight how rewarding a career in care can be, starting with our campaign webpage. Launched last week, our new webpage is filled with useful information about working in care and testimonials from our incredible carers.

Councillor Jenny Platts, Cabinet Spokesperson for Adults and Communities, said: "We're extremely proud of our carers in Barnsley, who play an invaluable role in improving the lives of people across the borough. Over the last 18 months, we have seen just how passionate they are to help others, working tirelessly to continue supporting people in need.

"Nationally and locally, we are seeing shortfalls in the number of people currently working in care, a situation which will become harder to deal with over the winter months ahead.

"I'm therefore delighted to see our Proud to Care campaign launched, helping to tell the story of what it really is like to work in care in Barnsley. If you love to help others and want a rewarding career you can be proud of, working in care could be for you!

"I would encourage anyone looking for a new challenge and wanting to make a difference in people's lives to check out our Proud to Care webpage and the opportunities available."
