Safer Barnsley Partnership Board Launches 2023 JSIA Survey to Gather Views on Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour

The Safer Barnsley Partnership Board is pleased to announce the launch of this year's JSIA survey, inviting residents to share their views on crime and anti-social behaviour in Barnsley. Led by the partnership, the survey will play a pivotal role in addressing local issues, shaping plans, and creating a safer Barnsley - a place of possibilities where everyone feels safe.

Completing the survey takes less than ten minutes, and your valuable thoughts and opinions on crime and anti-social behaviour will help shape the partnership's next set of priorities.

To participate, please fill in the survey online at surveys.barnsley.gov.uk/s/44L81U. For residents without internet access, the survey is available at local libraries, where assistance in accessing the online survey is provided.

The Safer Barnsley Partnership board comprises Barnsley Council, South Yorkshire Police, Berneslai Homes, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, National Probation Trust, South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust, NHS South Yorkshire, Neighbourhood Watch, South Yorkshire Criminal Justice Board, Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, Violence Reduction Unit, and the Youth Offending Team. By collaborating with housing associations, local businesses, and voluntary and community organisations, the board works towards creating a safe and enjoyable living and working environment for everyone in Barnsley.

Councillor Wendy Cain, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Communities, emphasised the importance of gathering insights from the community. She stated, "As we continue our efforts to make Barnsley a safer place for everyone, hearing from those who live, work, and visit the borough is vital. Your views will help us understand people's perceptions and experiences, helping to shape our priorities accordingly. Therefore, I strongly encourage everyone to take a few minutes to fill in the survey and share their thoughts on crime and anti-social behaviour in our borough."

The JSIA survey aligns with the council's Barnsley 2030 strategy, which aims to transform Barnsley into a place of possibilities. Under the Sustainable Barnsley theme, the council strives to safeguard the borough for future generations.

Let’s work towards a safer and thriving Barnsley by participating in the JSIA survey and sharing your valuable insights.
