PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2021

and

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BARNSLEY

(PUBLIC FOOTPATHS NOS.5 HOYLAND & BRIDLEWAYS 6 & 45 HOYLAND)

PUBLIC PATHS CREATION ORDER 2021

The above-named Orders, both made on 27 September 2021 under sections 26 and 118 of the Highways Act 1980 will:

  • Extinguish the full width of part of Hoyland public footpath no. 5 which commences to the west of Shortwood Villas at grid reference 3537 / 0144 and proceeds generally east, north east, south east and south west to a point north west of Shortwood Business Park at grid reference 3551 / 0141, a distance of 235 metres,
  • Extinguish the full width of part of Worsbrough public footpath no. 50 and Hoyland public footpath no. 36 which commences at grid reference 3523 / 0126 and proceeds south west and south east to grid reference 3529 / 0119, a distance of 110 metres,
  • Create a public bridleway 3.0 metres wide throughout which commences on the track to the north of Shortwood Business Park at grid reference 3550 / 0141 and proceeds north east along the track to join Shortwood Way at grid reference 3558 / 0156, a distance of 165 metres,
  • Create a public footpath 1.2 metres wide throughout which commences to the west of Shortwood Villas at grid reference 3537 / 0144 and proceeds south east to grid reference 3540 / 0141, a distance of 45 metres,
  • Create a public bridleway which commences at grid reference 3515 / 010 and proceeds generally north east then east to join the track at grid reference 3549 / 0139, a total distance of 520 metres, being 2.0 metres wide for 120 metres, 3.0 metres for 150 metres, 2.0 metres for 160 metres and 3.0 metres for 90 metres,
  • Create a public footpath 2.0 metres wide throughout which commences at grid reference 3504 / 0100 and proceeds south east and south to join Alverley Way at grid reference 3491 / 0086, a distance of 210 metres;

as shown on the Order maps.

Copies of the Orders and maps may be seen free of charge on the Council’s website at https://www.barnsley.gov.uk/public-notices/, at the Library at the Lightbox, 1 The Glassworks, Barnsley and at the Branch Library, 42 High Croft, Hoyland, Barnsley during normal business hours.

Any representations about or objections to the Orders may be sent or delivered in writing and addressed to the Legal Service Director and Solicitor to the Council, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, PO Box 634 Barnsley S70 9GG not later than 1 November 2021 quoting reference CR/PG/263/00346.  Please state the grounds on which it is made.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Council may confirm the Orders.  If the Orders are sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will also be sent.
