PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2021 

and

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BARNSLEY

(PUBLIC FOOTPATHS 1 & 6 & BRIDLEWAY 6 HOYLAND)

PUBLIC PATH CREATION ORDER 2021

The above-named Orders, both made on 27 September 2021 under sections 26 and 118 of the Highways Act 1980 will:

  • Extinguish the full width of part of Hoyland public footpath no. 1 which commences at grid reference 3558 / 0067 and proceeds south east and north east through woodland to join a track at grid reference 3569 / 0073, a distance of 175 metres,
  • Extinguish the full width of part of Hoyland public footpath no. 1 which commences at grid reference 3539 / 0063 and proceeds south east to grid reference 3541 / 0058, a distance of 60 metres,
  • Extinguish the full width of part of Hoyland public footpath no. 6 which commences at grid reference 3539 / 0076 and proceeds generally south, to join tinker Lane at grid reference 3543 / 0059, a distance of 180 metres,
  • Create a public footpath 1.5 metres wide throughout which commences at grid reference 3558 / 0067 and proceeds north east to grid reference 3569 / 0073, a distance of 140 metres,
  • Create a public footpath which commences at grid reference 3539 / 0063 and proceeds south and north east to grid reference 3541 / 0058, a distance of 80 metres, being 1.2 metres wide for 65 metres and 1.0 metres wide for 15 metres.
  • Create a public bridleway having a width of 2.0 metres throughout which commences at grid reference 3539 / 0076 and proceeds south east and south to join Church View at grid reference 3558 / 0044, a distance of 455 metres;

Copies of the Orders and maps may be seen free of charge on the Council’s website at https://www.barnsley.gov.uk/public-notices/, at the Library at the Lightbox, 1 The Glassworks, Barnsley and at the Branch Library, 42 High Croft, Hoyland, Barnsley during normal business hours.

Any representations about or objections to the Orders may be sent or delivered in writing and addressed to the Legal Service Director and Solicitor to the Council, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, PO Box 634 Barnsley S70 9GG not later than 1 November 2021 quoting reference CR/PG/263/00346.  Please state the grounds on which it is made.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Council may confirm the Orders.  If the Orders are sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will also be sent.
