We want your thoughts about whether Homeshare will be suitable for communities in Barnsley.
Homeshare is an arrangement between someone who needs support to continue to live in their own home (householder) and someone who has a housing need (homesharer). Homeshare allows householders to stay independent at home for longer while providing available housing options for those in need of accommodation.
How does it work?
A homesharer will offer the householder ten hours of social support a week - this could include cooking, cleaning, dog walking and gardening. Both the householder and the homesharer will be required to pay a monthly management fee to participate in the scheme.
