This course is for anyone interested in learning BSL for personal, professional or social reasons, whether you're hearing impaired or not.

Normally 10 hours, made up of 2 hours a week over 5 weeks

  • Signs for basic greetings
  • Finger spelling
  • Some differences between hearing and deaf cultures

What you can do next


CERTA (OCN) Level One Unit with progression to Signature Level 1 and Signature Level 2.


Our Sign Language pathway leads to qualification which can be used by learners who want to become interpreters or work in a supportive role in schools or social services.
