This course is for anyone interested in learning BSL for personal, professional or social reasons, whether you're hearing impaired or not.

See our course listing for British Sign Language for details of the days, times, locations and fees for these courses.

Length of course

2 hours a week over 36 weeks

Course content

On this course we cover three units:

  • 101 – Introduction to BSL, which involves meeting people, numbers, weather, directions and transport

  • 102 - Conversational BSL, with topics including home, people and animals, time and money, interests and activities

  • 103 – BSL at school, college or work, including getting around, exchanging information and refreshments

All the time, we're increasing conversational skills and learning more about the grammar of BSL.

What you can do next
