OCR Award in Life and Living Skills (Entry Level 3)
This course is designed to support unemployed learners who want to develop their ICT skills to help with job searching and maintaining their online dashboard.
Email is a key focus throughout the course, and promoting independent online activity. The course helps to develop IT skills while achieving a recognised qualification at entry level 3, and is a good stepping stone for future courses.
Length of course
15 hours over 2.5 weeks (attending twice a week)
- access a word processing application and learn the basics of creating, saving, recalling, editing and printing documents
- know how to use email to communicate and apply for job vacancies
- find out the difference between uploading and downloading
- be able to send and receive attachments
No prior experience or knowledge of ICT is required.
The course is free for all learners.
How to apply
You'll need to book a pre-course assessment before you can start the course, to make sure you have the necessary entry skills to complete the course within the allocated time.
At the appointment you'll be able to discuss your needs with one of our tutors and will also complete a short IT skills assessment. Assessments take place at Wellington House in Barnsley town centre and last about 45 minutes.
